Campus Bio-Medico: chemistry
Our sampleWhat is the pH of a 0.001 mol/L solution of hydrochloric acid (HCl)?
Tap an answer to see the explanation.
Show the answerThe answer
The answer is D: 3.
- A) Wrong. 0.001 is the concentration, not the pH.
- B) Wrong. pH 1 needs 0.1 mol/L of H⁺.
- C) Wrong. pH 2 needs 0.01 mol/L of H⁺.
- D) Right. HCl is a strong acid, so all of it splits into ions: [H⁺] = 0.001 = 10⁻³ mol/L. pH = −log[H⁺] = 3.
- E) Wrong. The trap: pH 11 is a base. You get it from 0.001 mol/L of NaOH.

Questions
What applicants ask most
Who runs ItalyMedPrep? Do you have reviews?
ItalyMedPrep is run by Prepalio International B.V., a private limited company registered in the Netherlands at Honingerdijk 85A01, 3063 AK Rotterdam. Its Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number is 42134936, so you can check it in the Dutch business register. We are not part of, or linked to, Humanitas, Cattolica, San Raffaele or Campus Bio-Medico, and we are not an agent: you apply to each university yourself. ItalyMedPrep is new, so it has no reviews yet. Questions? Email contact@italymedprep.it.
Is this the IMAT?
No. Each of the 4 schools ranks you only on its own English test. This site covers Cattolica's Rome campus only: cattolica's Bolzano campus has its own separate test. Compare the 4 tests.
When does registration open for 2027?
No school has published its 2027/28 dates yet. Each school guide shows the new dates once the school publishes them, and last year's dates until then, labelled with their year: Humanitas, Cattolica Rome, San Raffaele and Campus Bio-Medico.
Can I take all 4 tests?
Yes, if the dates allow. Each school has its own registration, fee and test. Check each school's dates before you register, so your tests do not clash. Non-EU applicants living abroad: Applying from abroad? Check the study visa and pre-enrolment rules (Universitaly) with each school before you pay more than one.
What score do I need to get in?
It depends on the school:
- Humanitas: The call gives no cut-off score. To be ranked, you need 192 in total.
- Cattolica Rome, 2026: The 40th EU place scored 58 of 65. These were first-ranking lines: offers then moved down the list.
- San Raffaele: The call sets no minimum score and gives no past cut-off.
- Campus Bio-Medico: On the first 2026 Medicine list, the 84th place scored just over 48 of 60.
Do I need an English certificate, and when?
It depends on the school. The 2026/27 rules, in short:
- Humanitas: B2, or pass the HUMAT
- Cattolica Rome: IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 80, or higher. You need it to enrol, not to sit the test.
- San Raffaele: C1 to enrol
- Campus Bio-Medico: B2. Attach it before you pay the fee: the application locks when you pay. No certificate yet? Read the rule.
Each school guide has the full rule.
I'm already preparing for the IMAT. Does that help?
Partly. Biology, chemistry and physics count at all 4 tests. Campus Bio-Medico is science only. Humanitas and San Raffaele add reasoning and reading. Cattolica Rome adds logic, ethics and general knowledge. Each school weighs the parts its own way. Compare the 4 tests.
Can a parent pay?
Yes. At checkout, enter the email the student will use. The receipt goes to that email, and the student signs in with it. Need an invoice in a parent's name? Write to contact@italymedprep.it before you pay.
Still have questions? Email us. For parents: who we are and how paying works, also in italiano.
